Police: $41K in Jewelry Stolen During Downers Grove Home Burglary
Cartier watches, sapphire earrings, and pearl and diamond necklaces were among the items stolen from the 1500 block of Snowberry Court on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Nearly $41,000 in fine jewelry was stolen during a home burglary in Downers Grove on Saturday, police said.
Officers responded to a home in the 1500 block of Snowberry Court around 9:54 p.m., after the owners reported a residential burglary, according to the report.
Upon their arrival, the victim told police he and his wife had been gone between 7:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. When they went upstairs, the dresser drawers were open in three bedroom, and several items appeared to be missing, police said.

After checking the rest of the house, the couple found that the back door had been forced open, police said.
More than a dozen pieces of jewelry valued at nearly $41,000 were taken from the home. Among the stolen items were four watches valued at $17,700, a $4,000 tennis bracelet, a $3,000 sapphire and diamond necklace, a $4,000 pearl necklace, $1,500 topaz earrings and $2,450 pair of sunglasses, police said.

A $200 blanket and $20 pillow case were also stolen, according to the report.
A complaint was filed with the Downers Grove Police Department, but no further action was taken.
