Rep. Patti Bellock Honored as 'Legislative Champion'
The award recognizes the female leader who has done the most to advance policy reforms and spearhead new initiatives.

Women In Government honored its Legislative Champions during its second annual ‘A Taste of the States’ fundraiser titled “Remember the Past, Embrace the Present, and Inspire the Future” on Nov. 18 at the Nuclear Energy Institute in Washington, D.C.
State Rep. Patti Bellock (R-Hinsdale) received WIG’s Legislative Champion Award – Midwestern Region. The award recognizes the female leader who has done the most to advance policy reforms and spearhead new initiatives to improve the quality of life for families in their state. A member of the Illinois House of Representatives since 1999, Bellock currently serves as Deputy Minority Leader, the first woman in the history of her caucus to hold that position.

Bellock has been a member of Women In Government since 2000, serving in leadership capacities on the national organization’s board of directors. Bellock currently serves as Illinois State Director of Women In Government.
Women In Government Foundation, Inc. is a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization of women state legislators providing leadership opportunities, networking, expert forums, and educational resources. Women In Government serves all 1,785 women who serve in state legislatures from across the country.
