Spare Tire Stolen

A man reported at 1:48 p.m. that someone removed his locked spare tire from underneath his vehicle. Although he last knew the spare tire was still underneath his silver 2003 Toyota in December 2012, he is relatively sure the incident occurred while the car was in a lot March 4 on the 300 block of Second Street. He was first made aware the spare was missing when a dealership was doing work on his vehicle and they told him. The value of the Toyota tire is $500.

Theft From Church

A parish secretary reported at 8:51 a.m. that on this morning she discovered a cash box was missing with $50 inside on the 4800 block of Highland Avenue. The box was taken from underneath the Virgin Mary statue inside the church, located near the entrance. There was no sign of forced entry to the church. The bronze metal box was valued at $70.

DUI

Luis A. Najera, 32, of the 1100 block of Bramble Avenue, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 2:59 a.m. at the intersection of Prentiss Drive and Woodward Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08, failure to signal and improper lane usage. His gray Chevy Trailblazer was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on I-bond and has an April 10 court date.
