Survey: Should The DG Library Board Be Elected Or Appointed?
A proposed referendum about library board governance recently led to a contentious village board meeting in Downers Grove.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Village Council has been weighing whether to put a proposed referendum question about library governance on the April 1 ballot for voters. Discussion over the proposal extended Tuesday's village council meeting until nearly 11 p.m.
If approved by the council, the referendum question would appear on the April 1 ballot as follows:“Shall the trustees of the Downers Grove Public Library be elected, rather than appointed?”
