DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Locks were broken on the window of a home in Downers Grove, triggering a burglar alarm on Thanksgiving, according to the village's crime blotter.

The burglary was reported on Nov. 28, when a resident told police his parents had gotten home to see that it appeared someone had broken the locks on one of the windows of their home in the 1100 block of 35th Street. They told police a burglar alarm had gone off in the home around 6:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

A police report said it appeared someone had used a tool between the window's frames to try to pry it open. Police say the window was closed when they arrived. The residents reported that nothing seemed to be disrupted inside the home, the police blotter said.
