2 Dead In DuPage Airport Plane Crash
Airport officials said two people were on board the plane when it crashed Wednesday afternoon in DuPage County.
WEST CHICAGO, IL — Two people were pronounced dead at the scene after a small plane crashed Wednesday afternoon in West Chicago, airport officials said.
The plane crashed at DuPage Airport Wednesday afternoon, according to a post from the West Chicago Police Department. Police and members of the West Chicago Fire Protection District responded to the crash.
Airport officials said two people had been on board the twin-engine plane when it crashed, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

ABC7 shared helicopter footage of the Piper PA-30 plane crash around 2:30 p.m.
Located at 2700 International Dr., West Chicago, DuPage Airport and Flight Center has four active runways and is used for private and corporate flights, per its website.

Just before 5 p.m., the airport said the exact cause of the accident is under investigation, adding, "DuPage Airport officials are coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, which will lead the investigation to determine the cause of this accident.
"No additional information is available at this time. Further updates will be provided as warranted. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident."
