Package Disappears

A package with two shirts and two pairs of jeans went missing from the 3700 block of Highland Avenue, a woman reported at 4:55 p.m. on this day. The package was delivered at 1:58 p.m. April 13 but the woman was home and was never notified. She did not know of anyone that would have taken the package but will contact police should further information arise.

Criminal Trespass to Business

Someone entered a business overnight and accessed some file cabinets, according to the owner at 2:15 p.m. He discovered the drawers to several cabinets and his office desk to be ajar. The exterior doors were secure and locked—there were no signs of forced entry or anything missing, the police report said. There were no suspects at the time of the report, which the owner requested should anything further come up.

Retail Theft

Alisa H. Zhou, 18, of the 8100 block of Fairmount, Downers Grove, was charged with retail theft. Zhou was arrested after an incident at 4:43 p.m. on the 7400 block of Lemont Road. Through video surveillance, an employee saw Zhou remove a $25 media stick from its packaging and then drop the empty package in the store. She was confronted and voluntarily went to the security office. Zhou told employees she dropped the stick somewhere in the store, but employees had yet to find it.

Zhou was transported to the Downers Grove Police Department, booked and charged. She did not wish to provide a written statement. She was released on I-bond with a court date pending. Police gave her a ride back to her vehicle.

Stolen Motorcycle Plate

Someone took a $48 rear license plate off a black 2011 Yamaha FZ8, the owner reported at 11:34 a.m. The incident occurred sometime between 4 p.m. April 14 and 11 a.m. April 15 on the 900 block of Burlington Avenue. "The complainant further advised that the license plate was attached to the motorcycle with special screws so (he's) confident that the plate did not fall off," said the report for this incident. He's already had the plate replaced.
