12 Cars Burglarized At Repair Shop In Downers Grove

Police say someone burglarized all the cars in just over an hour on the morning of May 11.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Twelve cars were burglarized in about an hour and a half while parked at an auto repair shop in Downers Grove, according to the village's police blotter.

Police were notified on May 12 that the burglaries had taken place at Mike More Miles, 7205 Lemont Rd. around 3 a.m. on May 11. Video footage showed the burglar leaving the property around 4:25 a.m.

Police say two of the cars did not have registrations. A window had been shattered on the 2019 Jeep Cherokee.

A responding police officer wrote that the other 11 cars had been left unlocked and it did not appear anything was disturbed inside the vehicles.

The suspect was described as wearing a black hoodie with a green jacket over it, plaid pajama pants, white sneakers and a white medical mask.
