Unregistered Sex Offender Arrested After Traffic Stop In Westmont

WESTMONT, IL — An unregistered sex offender was arrested by Westmont police after officers say he gave them a fake name during a traffic stop.

Joseph A. Raboin, 63, of the 1100 block of Forest Avenue, was charged with obstructing identification, failing to register as a sex offender and ignoring a traffic control device in connection with the June 14 incident.

Officers pulled Raboin over near his Florence Avenue home just before 4 p.m. for a moving violation, per a police report. Raboin is accused of giving police a "false name," the report said.

Raboin was taken into custody and held at DuPage County Jail.
