When Is Trick-Or-Treating In Downers Grove In 2024?
Kids have a few different opportunities to trick-or-treat in Downers Grove, including a trunk-or-treat event and trick-or-treating downtown.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The village of Downers Grove does not have set trick-or-treat times for 2024, but kids have a few opportunities to trick-or-treat in the village, including and leading up to Oct. 31.
Trunk-or-Treat
Oct. 26 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Hobson Road Community Church, 2531 Hobson Rd., Downers Grove
Hobson Road Community Church is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 26. Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and bring buckets or bags to gather candy. Family-friendly games and face painting will also be available.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 27 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Costume contest 12 p.m. at Fishel Park
Shops and restaurants in downtown Downers Grove will dole out candy bars and other goodies during the village's Downtown Trick-or-Treat event on Oct. 27. A costume contest will be held at Fishel Park, 1047 Curtiss St., at 12 p.m.
Halloween Trick-or-Treat
Oct. 31, no set hours
Downers Grove does not have set trick-or-treating hours in 2024, but the village encourages trick-or-treaters to follow safety tips.
When trick-or-treating, kids and their guardians are encouraged to travel in groups, carry flashlights and wear brightly colored or reflective costumes. To ensure safety, the village advises pedestrians to only cross at crosswalks and to stay on sidewalks whenever possible.
Parents are urged to check their children's candy and dispose of any candy that is unwrapped or not tightly sealed.
Residents who plan to pass out candy should keep their outside lights on to welcome trick-or-treaters. Homes with no outside lights on should not be skipped by trick-or-treaters.
Police are also reminding parents and children that residents who are younger than 17 years old have a curfew of 11 p.m.
