SOUTH ELGIN, IL β€” An Illinois Lottery player is starting the new year $10 million richer after a scratch-off win on a ticket bought in South Elgin brought the multimillion-dollar windfall, the lottery announced Saturday.

The $50 ticket contained the top prize for the scratch-off game $10 Million and was purchased at a Speedway gas station in the 1700 block of North La Fox Street, which will receive a 1 percent selling bonus of $100,000.

The game had three $10 million prizes, with the first bought in May by a Casey’s customer in Alton and the second won in November by a Jewel-Osco shopper in Countryside.

In 2024, more than 64 million Illinois Lottery winning scratch-off tickets were sold, netting players over $1.64 billion in prizes, according to the lottery.
