Chicago Man Killed In Cook County Rollover Crash On Route 53

According to Illinois State Police, it's unknown at this time whether the man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

COOK COUNTY, IL β€” A Chicago man was killed Thursday in a crash on southbound Illinois Route 53 in Cook County, according to a news release from Illinois State Police from District 2. Police said early investigation shows at 10:17 p.m. a silver Chevrolet Silverado was headed south on IL-53, just south of Lake Cook Road, when it left the road, hit a pole and rolled over onto the passenger side.

According to the news release, the 52-year-old man was the only person inside the truck, and was pronounced dead due to his injuries from the crash.

It's unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt, according to the news release.
