Man Sentenced For Threatening To Shoot Hispanics At Local Walmart
Officials said Richard Cline, 62, of Carpentersville, agreed to a sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
CARPENTERSVILLE, IL β A Carpentersville man was sentenced Monday to 30 days in the Kane County jail and one year of probation after pleading guilty for threatening to shoot Hispanics at a Carpentersville Walmart store in August, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's office. Richard Cline, 62, of the 300 block of Tulsa Avenue, agreed to the sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of misdemenor disorderly conduct, the news release said.
Cline and another man bought beer and cigareetes from the Walmart store in the 300 block of Lake Marian Road during the afternoon of Sept. 14, according to the release. However, as the pair exited the store, a greeter asked to see the receipt and Cline said he should come back to the store and shoot all of the Mexicans, which alarmed and disturbed employees at the store, the news release said.
Police questioned Cline who admitted he said something he shouldn't have, adding that the remark was "stupid," especially in light of the Aug. 3 massacre at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart during which a man β who admitted to authorities he had targeted Hispanics β shot and killed 22 people and injured 26 others, the state's attorney's office said.

According to the news release, Cline was ordered to surrender all of his guns, his Firearms Owners Identification Card and conceal carry license, in addition to being barred from all Walmart stores in Kane County for the duration of his probationary period.
