​Old Time Radio Mystery at Club 120 in Elgin

Free presentation! Two original Agatha Christie radio plays performed by the Weeping Willow Players from Willow Lake Estates in Elgin

Imagine you’re in the studio audience at a 1940s radio station. The station personnel come out on stage with scripts in hand and begin not one, but two original Agatha Christie mysteries.

The Weeping Willow Players from Willow Lake Estates in Elgin will perform an old time radio show, complete with sound effects and fedoras, on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 6:00pm at Club 120, located in the lower level at the Atrium at Oak Crest, 204 South State Street in Elgin.

Complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. There is no cost for the event , but a free will donation will be gratefully accepted.

The event includes a performance of two old-time radio shows, which will be presented back to back as they were some 80 years ago.

The radio plays include the Personal Call, specifically written as a radio play by Agatha Christie, and The Case of the Careless Victim, Poirot’s first case in America and the first radio play starring Agatha Christie’s most famous character produced in the US.

The radio plays will be held in George’s Stage, one of the rooms of Club 120. Club 120 is in the lower level of Oak Crest Residence, 204 S. State St., (Route 31), in Elgin.
