Strawberry Festival Held At Elgin Church This Weekend

ELGIN, IL — A church in Elgin will be hosting its 50th Annual Strawberry Festival this weekend.

The fest will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 340 Grand Boulevard in Elgin.

The event will include freshly made strawberry shortcake and chocolate covered strawberries available for sale, strawberry jam and other goodies from the bakery. There will also be a vintage jewelry boutique and a "strawberry patch" where you can find "one-of-a-kind" works of art and themed baskets, crafts and outdoor vendors.

Plants will be available for sale and those stopping out can also enjoy a ride on an antique fire truck.

All proceeds will benefit a mission trip to Mexico, Bethlehem Lutheran Church's Child Development Center, Scout Trip 111, the YWCA and Operation Sweet Life.
