2 Elmhurst Restaurants Broken Into: Police
An alarm alerted officers to the burglaries in a local strip mall, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving burglaries, a co-worker dispute, falls, a fire, an injury and an alarm for a suspect. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Burglaries
- Two restaurants were burglarized about 3:30 a.m. Monday in a strip mall in the 500 block of North York Street. Officers responded to a burglar alarm and found both restaurants with broken front glass. Money was stolen at Boba Heaven, 573 N. York St., while nothing was missing from Hunan Palace, 583 N. York St. Video showed the suspects leaving in a black SUV.
Co-worker dispute

- An employee at Dairy Queen, 143 N. York St., told police that an ongoing conflict with a co-worker during his shift led to the suspect battering him Friday. Video footage determined that the battery had not occurred. No arrest was made.
Falls
- A person fell about 11 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
- A person fell on the sidewalk about 5 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Prospect Avenue. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Fire

- Firefighters and officers responded to a garbage container fire about 2 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of North Indiana Street.
Injury
- A man injured his foot when equipment fell on it about 11 p.m. Friday at Schiller Street and Commerce Parkway. He was taken to the hospital.
Alarm for suspect
- An officer responded to a GPS alarm for a suspect being less than 3,000 feet away from a victim about 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue. The victim said she was fine and that she had no contact with the suspect. The alarm showed the suspect was within 3,000 feet, but not within the court-restricted 1,000 feet.
