3 Charged With Elmhurst Street Racing: Police
In other cases, a local neighborhood was hit with car burglaries.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving street racing, car burglaries, retail theft, domestic disturbances, a stolen car, theft, an unconscious person and battery. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Street racing
- An 18-year-old Franklin Park man, a 21-year-old Round Lake Beach man and a 19-year-old Bensenville man were cited about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at York Street and Fullerton Drive on charges of street racing and speeding. They were released.
Car burglaries

- Three cars were burglarized about 4 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 300 block of East May Street. Another was broken into in the 400 block of South Holly Avenue, a block away. Officers discovered this after being told about a suspicious car, a white Kia Stinger.
- Someone broke the driver's side window of a vehicle and gained access overnight Jan. 6 on Elm Creek Drive. Several tools were stolen.
- Someone broke the back window of a car and stole a drill between 4:30 p.m. Jan. 6 and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 7.
Retail theft
- Three people stole 60 bottles of alcohol about 8 a.m. Saturday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. An investigation is pending.
Domestic disturbance

- Police responded to a domestic disturbance Jan. 5 in the 600 block of West Comstock Avenue. During an argument, the suspect grabbed a woman's arms after she put her hands close to his face, police said. No arrests were made.
- Police were called to a domestic disturbance about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South Berkley Avenue. The parties agreed to separate for the night.
Stolen car
- BMW of Elmhurst, 500 W. Lake St., told police Jan. 5 that it has been unable to locate a car for more than a month. The car's tracking device is inoperable.
Theft
- A dozen cylinder jacks were stolen between Jan. 2 and Jan. 7 from a front yard in the 200 block of South Chandler Avenue.
Unconscious person
- An unconscious person was found about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of South Fairfield Avenue. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Battery
- A woman battered nurses who were treating her about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. Charges are pending.
