3 Elmhurst Residents Face Domestic Battery Charges

In two cases, phones were involved in arguments, according to police reports.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, theft, retail theft, drug possession and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:

Domestic battery

  • A 59-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 100 block of North East End Avenue was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at her house on a domestic battery charge. A person told officers that her mother threw a phone at her father during an argument, striking him, police said. The woman was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 38-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of East Diversey Avenue was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Saturday at his home on charges of domestic battery, criminal damage to property and assault. Police said the man battered a woman and broke her phone. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 34-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of North Myrtle Avenue was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Sunday at his house on two counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. Police said he battered someone else during a dispute. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 36-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 10 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South Riverside Drive on a domestic battery charge. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Theft

  • A 70-year-old Glen Ellyn woman was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday at Elm West Banquets, 681 W. North Ave., on a theft charge. Police said the woman stole someone's iPhone. She was released.

Retail theft

  • Tornalia D. Johnson, 27, of Joliet, and Dayasia M. Walker, 27, of Kankakee, were arrested about 5:30 p.m. Thursday on charges of burglary and retail theft. Johnson was also charged with resisting a police officer, accused of running away when the officer tried to arrest her. Police said the incident occurred at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Fleeing

  • A 38-year-old Bellwood man was arrested Wednesday on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police and driving with a revoked license. Police said the incident occurred about 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at North and Ridgeland avenues. The man was released.

Drugs

  • A 40-year-old Addison woman was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Church Street and Grand Avenue on possession of a controlled substance (two counts), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, leaving the scene of a crash involving damage to an attended vehicle, improper lane usage and driving with expired plates. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 36-year-old Northlake man was arrested shortly after midnight Friday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the police station and then released.

DUI

  • Deyci M. Alanis, 31, of Maywood, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at York Street and Fremont Avenue on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a revoked license and improper lane usage. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 38-year-old Wood Dale woman was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 100 Fellows Court on charges of DUI and endangering the life the health or life of a child. She was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 37-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of South Berkley Street was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West Claremont Street on charges of DUI (drugs), failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
