UPDATE: Lockdowns Lifted at Elmhurst Schools Following Bank Robbery
Lincoln and Madison schools were on lockdown Wednesday morning while Elmhurst police searched for a man who robbed a bank.

Update:
Elmhurst, IL - The Wednesday morning lockdowns at Lincoln Elementary School and Madison Early Childhood Education Center were lifted at 11:10 a.m., according to Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205.
Police are no longer searching the area for a man who robbed Inland Bank at 10:30 a.m. at 539 S. Spring Road, the city reports.

Elmhurst police had directed the schools in a precautionary soft lockdown, which keeps people from entering and leaving school buildings as students continue normal classroom activities.
Police were looking for a white man who is 5 feet 1 inch tall and 130 pounds. The man gave a note to a bank teller and demanded money, the city reports.

The man was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants and a hat, and he ran eastbound toward Montrose.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call police at 630-530-3050 or dial 911.
An Inland Bank in nearby Lombard was robbed Monday, May 23, according to the FBI, though authorities have not made any statements drawing connections between that robbery and the one in Elmhurst.
The suspect in the Lombard bank robbery is described as a white man in his mid-30s who is 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall. That bank, located at 837 S. Westmore Ave. in Lombard, was robbed around 4:14 p.m., the FBI reports.
