Box Ripped From Elmhurst Delivery Worker's Hands: Police

The man stole the package as city detectives watched him Friday afternoon, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – A man in a parked car aroused the suspicion of an Elmhurst police officer Friday afternoon in the 500 block of West Belden Avenue, police said.

About 2:30 p.m., as detectives watched, the man got out of the car and stole a box from a delivery worker's hands as the worker walked up a resident's driveway, police said. He was immediately arrested.

The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Davell C. Ware of Chicago. He was charged with robbery and taken to the DuPage County Jail.
