Elmhurst Theft Suspect Returns To Store, Gets Arrested: Cops
In another case, a man urinates outside City Hall in the middle of the day, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of retail theft, disorderly conduct, domestic battery, assault, trespassing and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
Theft suspect returns
- A 40-year-old Chicago man was arrested Thursday on two counts of retail theft. Police said the man stole alcohol at Doti's Liquors, 104 E. Fullerton Ave., a day earlier and returned the next day, when he was arrested. He was released.

- A 30-year-old Tinley Park man was cited about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 23 on a charge of disorderly conduct involving befouling property. Police said the man got out of his car and urinated in the bushes in the parking lot at City Hall, 209 N. York St.
Drinking and then sleeping
- A 22-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 200 block of East Butterfield Road was cited about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23 on a charge of possession of alcohol on public property. Police said they were called about a woman sleeping on the sidewalk at Jewel, 944 S. York St. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

- A 45-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Willow Road was arrested about 12:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve at his house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man pushed a woman during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 28-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 500 block of West St. Charles Road was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Friday at her home on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the woman grabbed another woman by the neck and choked her. The suspect was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Assault
- A 43-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11 p.m. on Christmas Day at Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave., on charges of resisting an officer and assault. Police said the man was seen assaulting a family member. While the man resisted arrest, an officer's phone fell out of his pocket and was stolen. It was later recovered. An investigation is pending. The man was released.
Trespassing
- A 39-year-old New Lenox woman was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield Road, on a trespassing charge. Police said the woman violated the gas station's trespass notice. She was released.
Trespass to a car
- A man and a woman, both 21 and Lansing residents, were arrested about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on charges of criminal trespass to a vehicle. Police said they saw a gray Toyota Corolla that was stolen in Homewood. The suspects were believed to be trying to sell the car on Facebook Marketplace. They were released.
DUI
- A 50-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 100 block of North Caroline Avenue was arrested about 8 p.m. Christmas Day on charges of DUI, child endangerment and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police said they were called to a domestic disturbance. She was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 20-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 3 a.m. Friday at North and Ridgeland avenues on charges of DUI (drugs) and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. She was taken to the police station and then released.
