Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Coming To Chicago Suburbs

BENSENVILLE, IL — The holiday season is about to get merry, musical and bright, when the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train stops this month in the Chicago suburbs.

The train is back on the rails for its first cross-continent tour since 2019, generating money, donations and awareness for food banks in local communities.

“We are excited to be back out on the rails and in our communities, taking these two beautiful trains across our network and sharing the joy that comes with gathering in the spirit of giving,” said Keith Creel, Canadian Pacific’s president and CEO, in a news release.

The tour will feature 168 live shows, with performers such as Alan Doyle, Tenille Townes, Mackenzie Porter and Lindsay Ell. The train will make the following stops in the Chicago area:

• Bensenville: 7 p.m. Dec. 2, Railroad Avenue and South York Street
• Pingree Grove: 9 a.m. Dec. 3, Village Hall, 14N042 Reinking Road
• Gurnee: 5:15 p.m. Dec. 8, Viking Middle School, 4460 Old Grand Ave.

Shows are free to attend, but eventgoers are asked to bring a cash or non-perishable food donation if they're able. Local food shelves will set up collection stations at each event.

Since the Holiday Train program launched in 1999, it's raised more than $21 million and collected 5 million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.
