Chicago Area Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 9 p.m.

CHICAGO, IL — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Chicago area, with a threat of large hail and winds in excess of 60 mph. According to National Weather Service in Chicago, the watch is in effect until 9 p.m. and impacts Boone, Bureau, Carroll, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Henry, Jo Daviess, Kane, Kendall, Lake, La Salle, Lee, McHenry, Mercer, Ogle, Putnam, Rock Island, Stephenson, Whiteside, Will and Winnebago counties.

According to NWS, the chance for severe storms will be possible mainly northwest of I-55. Most of the suburbs will be impacted by storms from 5 to 8 p.m.
