City officials are weighing the costs and benefits of potentially helping a local sales and marketing firm move to another spot in Elmhurst.
New Home Star has asked the city to invest $85,000 in its relocation effort from a current office at 100 N. Addison Ave. to one in a vacant building at 145 W. Second St., according to a Chicago Tribune article. Part of a redevelopment project known as "Opus," the company's present space is slated for demolition by the end of 2016.
Chicago Tribune reporters cited Ald. Mike Honquest on Monday as among those discussing the request for financial assistance from the city's tax increment financing dollars.

"If we're going to invest $85,000 there has to be a story (for the citizens of Elmhurst) behind that," he said.
New Home Star representatives contended that the vacant building's renovation to become the "coolest office space in Elmhurst" will benefit the community. They also referenced the value to keeping the company's crew of millennials in town.
