City Set to Approve Contract for North York Design
DPZ Committee is recommending the city go with Houseal Lavigne, which works with Conservation Design Forum, an Elmhurst company focused on ecological design and efficient water conveyance.

Elmhurst City Council members will be asked tonight to approve a contract with Houseal Lavigne Associates to create a plan for North York Street at a cost of $80,000. Elmhurst firm Conservation Design Forum is a subcontractor with Houseal Lavigne.
Also on Monday's agenda is a request from Alderman Mark Mulliner for a complete zoning review of the downtown business district. The City Council will vote, as part of the consent agenda, to get the ball rolling by sending the matter to the Development, Planning and Zoning Committee for discussion.
The study "should include members of the community, including residents, land owners and business owners," according to a memo from Mulliner.

"This study should review, at the least, the current list of uses, the parking requirements, the building requirements (including the height of structures) and use of the Schiller Court 'donut hole' parking lot," the memo says.
Mulliner also has requested a review of zoning in the industrial park to determine its "highest and best use." Aldermen will vote on sending this to the DPZ Committee, as well.
