Coroner Examines Unidentified Woman Killed by Metra Train in Villa Park
The woman was hit and killed Monday morning by a train on the Union Pacific West tracks.

Villa Park, IL - A woman who was hit Monday morning by a Metra train in Villa Park died from massive traumatic injuries, according to preliminary findings from the DuPage County Coroner's Office.
The final cause and manner of her death will be determined after a review of toxicology information, the office reports.
The woman was about 40 to 50 years old, white, with short dark hair. She was dressed in a black and silver top, a black leather jacket, black pants with black socks and shoes.

Villa Park police and fire personnel were sent around 11:26 a.m. May 2 to the Union Pacific tracks, west of the Ardmore crossing, according to the coroner's office.

Officials determined the woman was walking on the tracks when she was hit and killed by the Metra train. The coroner's office confirmed at the scene that she died at 11:45 a.m.
