Mr. Van Hoose, a US Air Force veteran who served in the Korean conflict, was a lifetime member of the Elmhurst Elk's Lodge 1531, Elmhurst American Legion Post 187 and Elmhurst Knights of Columbus Council 1911. Mr. Van Hoose is survived by his wife, Catherine; his children, Carol, Gregory and Donna; his 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Road, Elmhurst. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S.
