Dog Rescued from Elmhurst House Fire Caused by Smoldering Pipes
A minor injury was treated at the scene.

Elmhurst firefighters were called at 2:19 p.m. Thursday to a house fire in the 200 block of North Highland Avenue.
The home’s one occupant had evacuated the house when firefighters and mutual aid arrived, according to the City of Elmhurst, and smoke and flames were coming from the side of the house.

A dog was rescued from the house, and the fire caused one minor injury, which was treated at the scene.
Fire damaged a bathroom and the second floor before it was extinguished, and officials believe smoldering pipes from a plumbing repair sparked the blaze, the city reported.
