Driver Tried to Eat Cannabis to Hide it From Police: Cops

Elmhurst police saw a driver smoking cannabis and talking on his phone Sept. 4 at Lake and Route 83.

When the officers stopped the driver, he reportedly tried to eat the cannabis, according to Elmhurst police.

Eduardo Ibarra, age 18 of the 1100 block of Center Street, Bensenville, was given field sobriety tests before he was arrested and taken to the police department. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis and illegal use of electronic communications, police reported. He was released.
