Eatery Dispute, Road Rage: Elmhurst Cops
An argument broke out at a downtown Elmhurst restaurant, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a restaurant argument, road rage, spitting, trespassing, retail theft, a fall off a train, a disturbance and a recovered bag of money. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Restaurant argument
- A person reported that an argument between him and others took place about 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stray Hen Cafe, 105 S. York St. The others left the business. They were served with a no-trespass notice.

- A 29-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Elm Street on charges of assault, battery and disorderly conduct. In the same incident, a 33-year-old woman was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said it was a road rage incident that turned physical. Both were released.
Spitting
- Someone spit in another person's face during an argument about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the business at 154 W. Park Ave. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements.
Trespassing

- A 68-year-old Las Vegas man was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Friday on a trespassing charge. He is accused of trespassing at Amigas Restaurant, 671 W. North Ave., where he had already been served a no-trespass notice. The man was released.
- Bethel Assembly of God, 533 W. North Ave., told police that a person violated a no-trespass notice about 10 a.m. Sunday. An investigation is pending.
Retail theft
- Two Chicago women, a 32-year-old and a 33-year-old, were arrested about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on retail theft charges. Police said they were called during a retail theft in progress and found the women had stolen merchandise. They were released.
- About 8 p.m. Sunday, an officer tried to stop a white Nissan Rogue driven by a person believed to have been involved in a retail theft at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. The driver sped away and was later arrested by the La Salle County Sheriff's Office. The person was also wanted in Will County for retail theft. Elmhurst police are seeking an arrest warrant for retail theft and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
Metra fall
- A person fell while exiting a Metra train about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at 128 W. First St. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Choking
- Officers and medics responded to a person choking about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of East Park Avenue. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Disturbance
- Police responded to a disturbance about 1:30 p.m. Friday at Goodwill, 675 W. North Ave. A person was asking for money and refusing to leave. The person was served with a no-trespass notice.
Bag of money
- A bag containing receipts and currency was turned into the police station about 8 a.m. Saturday. It was found at Shell gas station, 301 W. Butterfield Road. The owner was asked to retrieve it.
Fired worker
- An employee refused to leave after being fired about 4 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South West Avenue. An officer tried to contact the suspect, but was unsuccessful.
Threat
- A resident in the 500 block of West Fay Avenue told police Saturday that someone had threatened her. An investigation is pending.
Battery
- A woman told police that she fell when a person pushed her during an argument about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Fremont Avenue. An officer tried to contact the suspect, but was unsuccessful. An investigation is pending.
Theft
- A catalytic converter was reported stolen between Nov 2 and Nov. 22 from a Hyundai Tucson in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road. An investigation is pending.
DUI
- A 39-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Lake Street on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, stopping on the roadway and possession of open alcohol by a driver. She was taken to the police station and then released.
Phone harassment
- A 29-year-old Oak Park man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18 on a phone harassment charge. Police said a person in the 400 block of South Washington Street received threatening messages. The Oak Park man was released.
