Police sought felony charges against the women, but prosecutors went with misdemeanors.
In the early evening of Oct. 4, the 83-year-old man dropped off his wife at the front door of Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. He then parked in a spot for disabled people.

He said a woman whom he did not know knocked on his door. When he opened it, the woman told him in Spanish that the police would get him.
He told officers he thought she was referring to immigration, informing her that he had his papers.
The woman, later identified as the 36-year-old, then punched him, causing his reading glasses to drop, according to the report.
Afterward, a woman whom he recognized as a relative approached, punching and kicking him a few times, police said. The woman, identified as the 49-year-old, said in Spanish that she hated him, the report said.
The woman then picked up the man's glasses and threw them to the ground.
The 49-year-old then unfolded a sharp metal object, believed to be a small knife or nail cutter, and stabbed the man in the left forearm, police said.
The man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Asked why his relative would attack him, he said she and her boyfriend about 30 years ago tried to sell him a bicycle that he believed to be stolen. He refused to buy it.
The attack was documented on the store's cameras, police said.
Both women admitted to the attack, but did not want to give details if they were going to be arrested, police said.
The 49-year-old, though, told officials that she asked the 36-year-old not to say anything to the man, but the younger woman just wanted to go tell him that they got his license plate number and knew he was back in the United States, police said.
When asked whether she hit the man just once, the 49-year-old said she did not remember, adding that she just "saw red," the report said.
The women later requested to speak with attorneys.
The 49-year-old was charged with domestic battery (two counts), attempted domestic battery, criminal property damage, aggravated assault, attempted mob action, attempted aggravated battery and mob action.
The 36-year-old was charged with attempted aggravated battery, attempted mob action, battery (two counts) and mob action.
They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
