'Armed and Dangerous' Bank Robber Still at Large
A man robbed an Elmhurst bank, prompting a massive air and ground search over Elmhurst and other western suburbs.

Bellwood, IL - A man robbed a bank in Elmhurst on Wednesday morning, prompting a large police presence as a manhunt was undertaken. A police helicopter flew overhead during the hunt.
The U.S. Marshals Service has identified the man as Christopher Martin Stephen, 44, noting he's a parole violator. Elmhurst police say the bank robber should be considered "armed and dangerous" and remains at large.
The bank robber was reportedly seen in Bellwood, where a massive search unfolded Wednesday, but information from Bellwood officials was not immediately available.

The robber was described as a white man who is 5 feet 1 inch tall and 130 pounds, according to the city. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants and a hat.

Police found a vehicle they believe was involved in the robbery, near Butterfield and Mannheim roads, and they interviewed a person of interest about the bank robbery.

An Inland Bank in Lombard was also robbed this week, and the FBI reports the two robberies may be connected. The Lombard bank, located at 837 S. Westmore Ave., was robbed around 4:14 p.m. May 23, according to the FBI.
The suspect in that bank robbery is described as a white man in his mid-30s, thin build, 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, the FBI reports.
