Elmhurst City Clerk Dies Of Breast Cancer
Patty Spencer fought a courageous battle with breast cancer.

ELMHURST, IL —Patty Spencer, the longtime Elmhurst city clerk, has died at age 69. She died on Sept. 20 after a 10-year battle with metastatic breast cancer, her obituary on the Ahlgrim Funeral Home website states.
Spencer was in the midst of her fourth term as city clerk, and was also involved in a number of other local organizations such as the Elmhurst Art Museum and Garden Club and was the past chairman of the guild for Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
"She served her community proudly for many years and will be greatly missed," the city of Elmhurst said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Patty’s loved ones during this difficult time."

Services will be at the Ahlgrim Funeral Home at 567 S. Spring Road in Elmhurst. A visitation will go from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 and funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. the following day. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Elmhurst.
