Elmhurst College to Host Campus Bird Walk

New bird watchers are welcome to join the hourlong walk May 10 around the arboretum campus.

Elmhurst, IL - The Elmhurst College Sustainability Committee will host a bird walk on campus on Tuesday morning, May 10.

The walk will be led by student birder Glenn Perricone. Elmhurst College is a registered arboretum and provides great stop-over habitat for migrant birds such as warblers and thrushes.

The walk will last no longer than an hour, and will be open to new bird watchers. A limited supply of loaner binoculars will be available.

Complimentary “bird-friendly coffee” — coffee specially certified as organic and shade-grown, to protect forest habitats — will be served before the walk begins.

The bird walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, in front of Illinois Hall, Schaible Science Center (190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst elmhurst.edu/campusmap). Admission is free. Bird-friendly coffee will be served from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
