Elmhurst Businesses Still Collecting Items for Tornado Victims

Please drop off requested items at ARC by 7 p.m. Friday or at Riley's from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

ARC Physical Therapy and Runners Soul in Elmhurst have teamed up to get needed donations to the victims of the tornadoes in Washington and Pekin, Illinois.

The items requested are fruit, bottled water, rubbermaid totes, toys, work gloves, bedding, diapers, flashlights, manual can openers, dog and cat food, disposable coffee cups with lids, aspirin, duct tape, tarps, toilet paper, infant formula and food, nonperishable food, cleaning supplies (tarps, bleach, mops, buckets, sponges and towels), large garbage bags and toiletries. 

A truck will leave on Saturday, Nov. 23, for Washington and Pekin. You can help fill that truck. If you'd like to help, please bring items to 183 N. York St. in Elmhurst by 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. 

Also, from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 23, items can be dropped of in the parking lot at Riley's Gathering Place, 590 S. York. If this time is not convenient, call Phillip at (630) 774-5370, or Pat at (708) 514-1070 to arrange a pickup.

Donations also can be made to the Red Cross Tornado Relief Response Team.

Hundreds of buildings were destroyed and more than 100 people were injured in these downstate communities. Please join ARC and Runners Soul and donate what you can.
