Elmhurst Library Designated As Warming Center
With several days of bitter cold temperatures ahead, the Elmhurst Public Library has been designated as a warming center.

ELMHURST, IL — With several days of bitter cold temperatures ahead, the Elmhurst Public Library has been designated as a warming center. The library is located at 125 S. Prospect, and is open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. You can call the Elmhurst Police Department for additional site referrals at (630) 530-3050.
The Elmhurst Fire Department urges all citizens to take steps to prepare themselves for extreme cold temperatures. Some of those precautions include:
- Maintain awareness of local warming centers
- Dress appropriately for winter weather and recognize the symptoms of hypothermia
- Gather emergency supplies for home and/or work
- Prepare a winter go kit for your automobile
