Elmhurst Man Drives With Woman On Hood: Cops
She fell from the car, police said. He faces reckless conduct and reckless driving charges.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of reckless conduct, domestic battery, prowling, aggravated fleeing, DUI and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
Reckless conduct
- A 30-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of Fellows Court was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at his home on charges of reckless conduct and reckless driving. During an argument, a woman sat on the man's hood. The man then drove off while she was still on the hood, causing her to fall, police said. He was released.

- A 21-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 900 block of North Virginia Lane was arrested about 5:30 p.m. at his house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said he battered someone during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 52-year-old Oaklawn man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave., on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man punched another person. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Prowling
- A 53-year-old man, whose residence was not listed, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on a prowling charge. Police said a resident in the 200 block of Dewalt Court reported her doorbell camera captured the man looking through packages on her front porch. He was released.
Battery

- A 56-year-old Arlington Heights woman was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Friday at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave., on a battery charge. Police said the woman slammed a freezer door on another person's leg during an argument. She was released.
Aggravated fleeing
- Santiago Alonso Henao-Avila, 23, of Schaumburg, was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday at Grantley Avenue and York Street on charges of aggravated fleeing (two counts), speeding, squealing or screeching of tires, and driving an uninsured car. Henao-Avila fled a traffic stop after an officer found he had a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear in court. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- A 25-year-old Glendale Heights man was arrested about 8 p.m. Saturday at Grand Avenue and Interstate 209 on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, no valid driver's license, improper lane usage and driving a vehicle with an electronic device. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 35-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at North and Villa avenues on charges of DUI, transportation of open alcohol, failure to dim headlights and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 26-year-old Hanover Park man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Interstate 294 on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
Retail theft
- A 37-year-old Bellwood man was arrested about 8 p.m. Aug. 19 on a retail theft charge. The incident was at Jewel, 944 S. York St. He was released.
