Elmhurst Man Leaves Car Few Blocks From Home: Cops

He was later charged with DUI and having unsafe tires, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst arrested two people in the last few days on DUI charges.

Here is information from the police reports:

  • A 35-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of North Howard Avenue was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 10 on charges of DUI, using unsafe tires, driving an uninsured car and failing to wear a seatbelt. Police said they were called about a suspicious, unoccupied Honda Pilot SUV parked on the roadway in the 200 block of East Fullerton Avenue, about four blocks from the man's house. Officers said they found the man, who was taken to the police station and then released.
  • Ashley Perez, 36, of Skokie, was arrested about 6 p.m. Tuesday at North and Berteau avenues on charges of aggravated DUI, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, improper U-turn on roadway, driving with expired plates and having an obstructed windshield. She was taken to the police station and then released.
