Elmhurst Man Scaring Children Arrested: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, electronic harassment, trespassing and DUI. Here is information from Elmhurst's latest arrest log:

Assault

• A 38-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of West Fay Avenue was arrested Saturday on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Police said the man was scaring children about 6:30 p.m. on Halloween in the 300 block of North Ferndale Avenue. He then approached someone else and smacked his phone to the ground, causing the screen to crack. The man was released.

Electronic harassment

• A 55-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Walnut Avenue was arrested Saturday on a charge of electronic harassment. Police said the man had been continually texting harassing and threatening messages to a woman in the 300 block of West Avery Street. The man was released.

Trespassing

• An Elmhurst man who lives in the 700 block of South Hawthorne Avenue was arrested Thursday on a trespassing charge. He violated a previous trespass notice by dropping off items at a woman's house in the 200 block of East Third Street. He was released.

DUI

• A 69-year-old man who lives in the 100 block of West Butterfield Road was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday on his block on charges of DUI (drugs) and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
• A 39-year-old Carol Stream man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at York Street and Palmer Avenue on a DUI charge. He was taken to the police station and then released.
• A 23-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 700 block of North Eastland Street was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at York Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and marijuana possession by a driver. She was taken to the police station and then released.
