Elmhurst Man Threatens At Neighbor's House: Police

In another case, a fired worker creates a ruckus at his old workplace, authorities said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving disorderly conduct, a fired worker, a fall, a custody dispute, porch piracy, a car break-in, theft and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Disorderly conduct

  • A 67-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday near his house on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said a woman reported that the man threatened to harm her if she returned. This occurred while she was dropping off her daughter at a nearby house. He was released.

Fired worker

  • A fired employee returned to make employees uncomfortable about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Elmhurst BMW, 500 W. Lake St. The person was given a no-trespass notice.

Fall

  • A woman tripped and fell on the sidewalk about 1 p.m. Thursday at Crescent and Mitchell avenues, causing cuts to her left eye and left and right knees. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Custody dispute

  • An officer was called about 5:30 p.m. Thursday to the 600 block of York Street for a resident's report that a suspect took their children without permission. No court order on custody arrangements exists.

Porch piracy

  • A person in a black sedan parked in front of a house, walked up to the front porch and stole two packages about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South Washington Street. An investigation is pending.

Car break-in

  • Someone broke a car's window and stole a bag full of clothes between 7:30 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. Friday at 187 S. Route 83. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • Catalytic converters were stolen from six white Ford Econoline vans about 5:30 a.m. Saturday at Enterprise Leasing, 896 N. York St. An investigation is pending.

Retail theft

  • A resident in the 300 block of East Huntington Lane told police Sunday that a suspect was harassing her electronically. She wanted the incident documented.

False identification

  • A 20-year-old Bolingbrook man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Butterfield Road and Stratford Avenue on a charge of using a false identification. Police said the man bought a case of beer using a false ID. He was released.

DUI

  • A 25-year-old Streamwood man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Friday at Roosevelt and Butterfield roads on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 57-year-old Downers Grove woman was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Drive and Monroe Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign and failure to signal. She was taken to the police station and then released.
