Elmhurst Native Advances, Makes Top 20 in NBC's "The Voice"
Kylie Rothfield has stepped into the national spotlight.
America’s next best singer could hail from Elmhurst.
Kylie Rothfield, who was raised in Elmhurst and moved to California when she was 7 years old, once again advanced last week to the next round of the NBC hit show “The Voice,” My Suburban Life reported.
Rothfield didn’t spent her entire childhood in Elmhurst, but she did attend Jefferson Elementary School before moving across the country.

In the past few weeks, Rothfield beat out other contestants with her renditions of “House of the Rising Sun” and “Hound Dog.” She’ll now join the remaining group of 20 contestants for the live rounds of the show, which began Monday night. Her fate will be decided by a viewer vote.
“It’s been a really fun, new and challenging experience,” Rothfield told My Suburban Life. “At times I’m extremely nervous, but I think I’m lucky enough that right when I get on stage and start singing something kind of turns on inside of me and the performer comes out. I’m not thinking about the results, how many people are watching or if I’ll go home after. I’m just giving everything I’ve got to that performance.”
