Elmhurst Official Likely Taking Chamber Job
The current chamber leader is leaving after a quarter century at the helm.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst alderwoman is poised to become the next president and CEO of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Ward 1 Alderwoman Jennifer Veremis, who is the chamber's membership director, is expected to replace John Quigley. He has been in the top job since 1999, but his involvement in the chamber goes back 34 years.
In a brief interview Friday, Quigley said he would take the new position of director of marketing and communications starting in January.

Her appointment as president needs the chamber board's approval. Its vote is set for Tuesday.
This week, Quigley was interviewed by Ken Bartels of Community Bank of Elmhurst in an episode of the "Elmhurst: Our Community" series.
"The members themselves have made it so easy to stay here. They have bought into what we want to do and how we want to do it," Quigley said. "I've had a glorious and fortunate run to spend a quarter century doing what I've been able to do."
