Elmhurst Park District to Host 'Healthy Halloween'
There will be two separate events for children ages 3-12.
“Halloween” and “healthy” aren’t two commonly paired words, but Courts Plus in Elmhurst is changing that, according to the Elmhurst Park District.
The Courts Plus Healthy Halloween Party will take place Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. — close enough to the candy-riddled holiday, but still a couple weeks away from trick-or-treating.
While all Courts Plus Halloween events are family-friendly, just the younger children are invited to the Friday party. The event is catered to kids 3-7 years old, and the dressed-up youngsters are invited to trick-or-treat, hunt for pumpkins, exercise, dance and do crafts. Parents are invited to stick around and watch.

For older children ages 6-12, a different event on Sunday, Oct. 23 will get them up and moving. The Courts Plus Pumpkin Rock & Roll & Run will consist of a 1K (the winner gets a giant pumpkin that was grown in Northern Michigan), rock climbing, decorating pumpkins and doing a group fitness session.
Attendees to these events are also able to donate canned goods to the United Community Concerns Holiday Food Drive.
