Elmhurst Police Plan St. Patrick's Day Crackdown on Unsafe Drivers
A roadside safety check will take place March 19 on a major roadway in Elmhurst.

Elmhurst, IL - The Elmhurst Police Department will conduct special patrols around St. Patrick’s Day to crack down on drunken drivers and seat belt violations.
The campaign begins March 9 and runs through March 20, according to the City of Elmhurst. Extra officers will patrol at all hours, but there will be a focus from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.
A roadside safety check will take place on a major roadway in Elmhurst on March 19 from 11:30 p.m. to March 20 at 3:30 a.m.

Elmhurst police encourage residents to find a designated driver before St. Patrick’s Day parties begin. Residents are asked to contact police if they see a drunken driver on the road.
This special enforcement is part of a year-long grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
