Elmhurst School's Traffic 'A Disaster': Official
Limits on parking are expected to improve the situation, an alderman said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst alderman on Tuesday said he fully supported a study's recommendations for handling traffic near a local elementary school.
Alderman Chris Jensen, who lives near Field Elementary School, said he often walks his children to the school at 295 N. Emroy Ave.
"It's currently a disaster, and I think a lot of the (proposed) parking restrictions will certainly help that," the alderman said.

According to a consultant's report, the city has received many complaints about on-street parking and on-street queuing of cars during the morning dropoff and afternoon pickup times.
The consultant recommends banning parking of unattended cars on streets near the school during the busy times, which the city has determined are 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
