Elmhurst Targets Speed Violators On Key Road

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police reported issuing 13 citations Sunday for drivers speeding on Route 83.

That happened within an hour and a half of patrol time, police said.

One person was charged with a misdemeanor for speeding 103 mph in a 45 mph zone, police said. A police photo indicated the speeder was a motorcyclist.

Last year, the police department started issuing yard signs that read, "In this community, we slow down for each other."
