Elmhurst Theft Suspect Chased On Snowy Streets: Cops
The man was pursued twice after he committed burglary and retail theft, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A man stole more than $1,600 in merchandise from an Elmhurst store and was chased twice before being caught, police said.
Larone Murray, 42, of Chicago, faces felony charges of burglary and retail theft, police said.
Shortly before noon Saturday, Murray put 17 cosmetic items in a bag at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive, and then left without paying, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.

Shortly after noon the next day, Elmhurst officers found Murray in a Pontiac Aztek at Citgo gas station on Lake Street in Addison.
The officers tried to stop Murray at Route 83 and North Avenue, but he sped away, with the officers ending the pursuit for safety reasons, prosecutors said.

That night, Lombard officers attempted to pull over Murray, but he sped away on snowy streets, prosecutors said. The officers stopped the chase for safety.
The next morning, Elmhurst officers found the Pontiac at SpringHill Suites on Lake Street and began surveillance, police said.
Officers arrested Murray as he tried to enter the hotel.
Police said they found a gram of heroin in the driver's side compartment of Murray's car.
Murray is on parole for burglary.
DuPage County Court denied prosecutors' request to jail Murray until his trial.
