Elmhurst Trash Dispute Results In Arrest: Cops
A resident in a local neighborhood was charged with assault and battery, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of assault, battery, domestic battery and aggravated DUI. Here is information from the latest reports:
Assault and battery
- A 54-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of East Church Street was arrested about 8 a.m. Wednesday at his house on charges of battery and assault. Police said they responded to a neighbor dispute over placement of garbage cans. The 54-year-old is accused of aggressively approaching a neighbor, grabbing his arm and using offensive language toward him. He was released.

- Oscar Ayala, 27, of Northlake, was arrested about 5:30 a.m. Monday on domestic battery (two counts), aggravated DUI (a felony), criminal trespass to a car, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving with a suspended license. After a report of domestic battery, Ayala struck a gas pump and fled from the Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave., police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
