Elmhurst Trolley Rerouted for Rock The Block Party

Rock the Block will feature 10 bands, local food favorites and a wide selection of beer and wine.

The final weekend for the Explore Elmhurst Express, a free trolley service provided by the City of Elmhurst, will be Sept. 11 to 13.

Trolley times are Friday, 6 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 11:30 p.m and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. View the Trolley Route Map during Rock the Block event.

To accommodate the Rock the Block Party in downtown Elmhurst, York Street will be closed between First and Second Streets. The trolley will take an amended route Friday and Saturday.

The regular Trolley Stop No. 2 will be rerouted to York and First Streets. From there, the trolley will run east to Haven and then north to Schiller, where it will travel west to Robert Palmer Drive and then proceed north to Second Street, where it will rejoin its original route. The remaining scheduled stops will stay the same.

City Centre’s Rock the Block event, the downtown’s biggest party of the year, will take place Sept. 11 from 4 to 10 p.m. and Sept. 12, noon to 10 p.m. The event features 10 bands, local food favorites and a wide selection of beer and wine.
