Elmhurst Woman Angry In Parking Dispute: Cops

She was cited on a disorderly conduct charge outside a local restaurant, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police have charged people with disorderly conduct, domestic battery, retail theft, trespassing and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:

Parking dispute

  • A 46-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 900 block of South Stratford Avenue was cited about 11:30 a.m. Saturday on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the woman admitted to throwing coffee on another person's car in a dispute over a parking space outside Rise N Thrive health food restaurant. She was released.

  • A 36-year-old Maywood man was cited about 8 a.m. Saturday at Butterfield Road and Prospect Avenue on charges of disorderly conduct, improper lane usage, driving an uninsured car and improper window tinting. Police said they responded to a road rage incident. He was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 49-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of North West Avenue was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at his house on three counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Retail theft

  • A 25-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both from Cicero, were arrested Thursday on retail theft charges. Police said the incident occurred 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Shoe Carnival, 195 S. Route 83. When confronted by employees, one of the suspects dropped one of the two shoes and left in a car, police said. They were released.

Trespassing

  • A 69-year-old Las Vegas man was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday at Goodwill Store, 675 W. North Ave., on a charge of criminal trespassing. He was also wanted on a warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 57-year-old Bolingbrook man was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday at York Street and North Avenue on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, resisting an officer, illegal parking where prohibited, possession of open alcohol by a driver and driving an uninsured car. Police said they responded to a call about a driver asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 48-year-old Addison man was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car and improper lane usage. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 47-year-old Chicago man was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday at North and Melrose avenues on charges of DUI and speeding. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 43-year-old Bellwood man was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at North and Clinton avenues on charges of DUI, improper window tinting, improper lane usage, speeding and possession of open alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 33-year-old Maywood woman was arrested about 5 a.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue and Lake Street on charges of DUI, improper lighting, improper stopping in the roadway and driving an uninsured car. She was taken to the police station and then released.

Warrants

  • A 38-year-old Bensenville man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at North Avenue and Route 83 on a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear in court. He was cited on a charge of failing to wear a seatbelt. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 32-year-old Shannon, Mississippi, woman was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at Extended Stay America hotel, 550 Grand Ave., on a Mississippi warrant. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
